It is more surf-led and more reactive than the AXIS PNG V2 Front Wing, but it still has enough glide and low-end support to make real-world sessions easier. The Surge is not usually the first foil we would suggest for a complete beginner. The Surge rewards better foot pressure and active riding, so it makes most sense once you are ready to use that responsiveness.

If your main goal is dock starting, flat-water pumping or linking tiny runners with the least possible effort, the AXIS PNG V2 may still be the better fit. If your main goal is full downwind efficiency, long glides and top-end speed, compare it with the AXIS Fireball before choosing.
