Description
Description
If you love the idea of downwind-style glide but don’t want to commit to a full downwind board shape, the Duotone Skybrid SLS 2025 is that sweet spot. It’s a mid-length wing foil board built to get you flying earlier (even on smaller foils), stay calm through lulls, and make touchdowns far less punishing.
This is the “performance” version of the Skybrid concept: SLS (Strong, Light, Superior) construction, longer carbon tracks for fine-tuning, and a shape that blends efficiency with a more familiar, compact feel on the beach.
Where it sits in the Duotone foil board range
Choose the Skybrid SLS if you want more glide and earlier take-offs than a compact wing board, but still want something that feels agile and manageable compared with a full downwind board.
- More efficient than compact shapes like the Sky-style boards (earlier lift, calmer glide between gusts).
- More “normal” to handle than a full downwind board (less length to wrestle with in wind and shorebreak).
- Premium build option in the Skybrid family for riders who want the light, crisp SLS feel.
Why riders choose the Skybrid SLS
- Earlier take-off in real UK wind – the longer, narrower outline creates a more efficient “runway” into flight.
- Smoother touchdowns – the mid-length shape carries speed so you can recover instead of instantly stalling.
- Feels fast without feeling twitchy – efficient glide with reassuring stability from the wider nose and tail.
- Tuneable foil placement – longer carbon tracks make it easier to dial in balance across different foils and mast positions.
- Strapless or strapped – ride it clean and surfy, or add straps for locked-in control and bigger airs.

FAQs
What is a “mid-length” wing foil board, and why would I want one?
A mid-length board gives you a longer, more efficient waterline than a compact wing board, so it accelerates more easily and releases earlier. The payoff is earlier take-offs (especially in lighter wind), smoother glide through lulls, and much nicer touchdown recovery.
Which size Skybrid SLS 2025 should I choose?
Use Duotone’s rider-weight guidance as your starting point, then adjust for your goals. If you want the easiest starts and most stability, size up. If you’re confident with sinker starts and want the sportiest feel, size down. If you tell us your weight, ability, wing size and foil front-wing size, we’ll happily help you pick the right one.
Is the Skybrid SLS suitable for intermediates, or is it only for advanced riders?
It’s aimed at intermediate-to-advanced wingfoilers, but it’s very friendly for an intermediate stepping up in performance because it gets flying early and recovers well from touchdowns. If you’re a true beginner, you may be better on a higher-volume, wider “learn/progress” board first.
Does it work well in light wind?
Yes — that’s one of the big reasons the Skybrid exists. The efficient outline helps you build speed and lift sooner, meaning you can get going in less wind (or run a smaller foil for better speed and glide once you’re up).
Will my foil fit this board?
The Skybrid SLS uses 2x US tracks, so it’s compatible with most plate-mount foils. You’ll just need the correct M8 bolts/nuts for your foil plate (we’ve linked the Duotone hardware options above if you need them).
Can I ride it strapless, and are straps included?
Absolutely — it’s excellent strapless, especially for a surfy feel and easy foot changes. It’s also ready for a 3-strap setup when you want locked-in control for speed, jumps or rougher water. Duotone supply footstraps with this model, and you can find spares/options in our Foil Accessories collection.
