Duotone Monobloc Tail H D/LAB
The Duotone Monobloc Tail H D/LAB is the high-aspect, glide-focused rear end for riders who want to make their Duotone foil more efficient. Developed around Duotone's proven H stabiliser concept, it combines the tail section and high-aspect stabiliser into a clean Monobloc carbon structure designed to reduce drag, improve energy transfer and keep the foil flying for longer.
This is the tail we would look towards for downwind foiling, parawinging, freefly wing foiling and pump-and-glide focused setups. Rather than chasing the outright speed of a PX tail or the aggressive pop of the freestyle-specific F, the H prioritises sustained flight, efficient pumping and a calm, predictable connection between bumps.
It is a particularly natural match for the Duotone Glide 3.0 D/LAB, where the combination creates a genuinely efficient foil for riders wanting to cover ground, connect low-energy sections and use less physical effort to maintain flight.
Why choose the Monobloc Tail H D/LAB?
- High-aspect stabiliser: the AR 9.3 outline is designed around pump efficiency, sustained glide and reduced drag.
- Monobloc construction: integrating the rear stabiliser and tail creates a very direct connection with efficient power transfer and fewer compromises at the rear of the foil.
- Excellent pump and glide: helps preserve speed between bumps and reduces the energy required to keep the foil flying.
- Stable tracking: particularly useful during downwind runs, parawing sessions and freefly winging where the foil needs to continue carrying efficiently without constant power from a wing.
- D/LAB carbon construction: premium lightweight carbon construction delivers high stiffness and immediate feedback.
- Low-drag design: built for riders who value efficiency over an excessively loose or skatey rear-end feel.
- 3BS+ connection: incorporates Duotone's additional fourth-screw system for increased pitch stability on compatible setups.
- Two carefully matched configurations: H130 and H150 versions allow the tail to be paired more appropriately with different front-wing sizes.
Who does the Duotone Monobloc Tail H suit?
The H is an excellent choice for intermediate through expert foilers whose priorities have moved towards glide, efficiency and covering distance. It makes particular sense if you are spending more time downwinding, using a parawing, pumping between bumps or flagging your wing and allowing the foil to do the work.
It also suits riders who find themselves tiring during longer pump or downwind sessions. A more efficient tail does not replace good technique, but reducing drag at the rear of the foil can make it noticeably easier to maintain speed and preserve momentum.
If your main priority is maximum speed during powered wing or Foil Assist riding, a PX stabiliser direction will normally make more sense. Dedicated freestyle riders wanting additional front-foot pressure, pop and a more locked-in take-off should instead consider the Duotone Monobloc Tail F D/LAB.
H130 or H150: which size should you choose?
| Model | H130 | H150 |
|---|---|---|
| Stabiliser area | 130 cm² | 150 cm² |
| Tail length | 43 cm | 40 cm |
| Approx. total fuselage length | 66 cm | 63 cm |
| Aspect ratio | 9.3 | 9.3 |
| Stabiliser span | 35 cm | 37 cm |
| Best suited to | Smaller and faster front wings where efficiency and control are priorities | Larger front wings where additional rear lift and stability are useful |
The interesting detail is that the H130 uses the longer 43 cm tail. This adds useful pitch stability while retaining the smaller 130 cm² stabiliser. The H150 combines its larger stabiliser area with a shorter 40 cm tail, providing the additional support needed by larger front wings without unnecessarily lengthening the complete foil.
Recommended Glide 3.0 D/LAB combinations
The Monobloc H has been developed as a natural performance partner for the Glide 3.0 D/LAB. Duotone's published recommendations are:
| Glide 3.0 D/LAB front wing | Recommended Monobloc H |
|---|---|
| 600 cm² | H130 |
| 700 cm² | H130 |
| 825 cm² | H130 |
| 950 cm² | H150 |
| 1100 cm² | H150 |

Compatibility
The Monobloc Tail H D/LAB is designed around Duotone's current high-performance foil platform and can be used directly with compatible D/LAB front-wing systems including the Glide 3.0 D/LAB.
One of the most useful developments for 2027 is the Duotone Frontpiece AL 3BS. This 23 cm aluminium front section allows compatible SLS and Original front wings to be combined with D/LAB tails and Monobloc tails. In practical terms, it opens the Monobloc H performance concept to setups including larger Glide 3.0 SLS front wings and other compatible Duotone foil platforms.
This compatibility is important because a Monobloc tail is not simply a universal rear wing. Your front wing, mast connection and frontpiece all need to work together as one system. If you are upgrading an existing Duotone foil rather than building a new setup, read our Duotone foil compatibility guide covering 3BS, tails and masts before ordering.
How does H compare with the other Duotone tail options?
| Tail type | Main character | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| H | Maximum glide, efficient pumping and stable tracking | Downwind, parawing, freefly and long-distance glide |
| PX | Fast, low drag and loose through turns | Powered winging and Foil Assist riding at higher speeds |
| S | Playful turning with efficient swell-powered performance | Prone, surf and swell-focused foiling |
| F | Locked-in, powerful and tuned for front-foot pressure | Freestyle, jumping and fast kite foiling |
For most customers the decision is therefore fairly simple: choose H when your priority is staying on foil efficiently rather than simply going faster or turning harder.

What is included?
This listing is for one Duotone Monobloc Tail H D/LAB in your selected size. It is a foil component rather than a complete foil system. Front wing, mast and the Frontpiece AL 3BS where required are separate components unless specifically shown otherwise in the selected package.
Building a complete 2027 Duotone foil
For a premium glide-focused build, the Monobloc H pairs particularly well with the Glide 3.0 D/LAB. Riders wanting a more accessible front-wing construction can look at the Glide 3.0 SLS together with the appropriate Frontpiece AL 3BS.
Mast choice is equally important. The Duotone Mast SLS 2.0 provides a stiff, direct carbon option, while the Mast SLS 2.0 Quickmount adds easier assembly for riders who regularly transport or dismantle their foil.
You can also browse our complete foil collection, or contact The SUP Company with your rider weight, front wing, mast, board and intended discipline and we can help check the complete combination before you order.
Duotone Monobloc Tail H D/LAB FAQs
What is the Monobloc Tail H designed for?
The H is Duotone's high-aspect glide stabiliser. Its main priorities are efficient pumping, low drag, sustained glide and predictable tracking, making it particularly suitable for downwind foiling, parawing and freefly wing foiling.
Should I choose the H130 or H150?
The H130 is primarily paired with smaller and faster front wings, while the H150 offers additional rear lift and stability for larger foils. With the Glide 3.0 D/LAB, Duotone recommends the H130 for 600, 700 and 825 front wings, and the H150 for 950 and 1100.
Is the H130 faster than the H150?
Not simply because it has less area. The complete tail geometry also changes: the H130 uses a longer 43 cm tail while the H150 uses a shorter 40 cm tail. They are designed as matched systems for different front-wing sizes rather than as a simple fast-versus-slow choice.
Is the Monobloc H good for downwinding?
Yes. Downwind performance is one of its core purposes. The high-aspect outline, low drag and efficient pumping behaviour are intended to help riders maintain speed, connect bumps and stay flying through lower-energy sections.
Is the Monobloc H the fastest Duotone tail?
No. The H is focused more heavily on pump and glide efficiency. Riders prioritising higher powered speeds will normally be better served by a PX-style tail, while the H makes more sense when sustained glide and efficient low-energy flight are the priority.
Can I use the Monobloc H with Glide 3.0 SLS?
Compatible SLS and Original front wings can access Duotone's D/LAB and Monobloc tail platform through the 23 cm Frontpiece AL 3BS. The exact combination should still be checked against your front-wing size and mast before ordering.
What does 3BS+ mean?
3BS is Duotone's foil connection system. The latest 3BS+ development incorporates an additional fourth screw on compatible components to increase pitch stability and create a more rigid connection under load.
Is this a complete foil?
No. The Monobloc Tail H D/LAB is the rear tail and stabiliser component. A compatible front wing, mast and any required frontpiece or connection hardware are needed to create a complete foil.
