The Duotone Mast SLS 2.0 is the carbon foil mast for riders who want a meaningful performance step up from aluminium without moving all the way to Duotone’s more specialised D/LAB mast platform. For 2027 it has been substantially refined with a tapered mast shape, a new low-drag profile derived from the D/LAB 2.0 programme, a one-piece carbon mast and plate construction and the latest 3BS+ connection.
The result is a mast that feels cleaner through the water, stiffer under load and more directly connected to the foil. Reduced wetted area helps acceleration and glide, while the one-piece plate and mast construction removes an additional interface between board and mast. For the rider, that translates into more immediate steering, better feedback when pumping and carving, and a foil that feels more settled as speed increases.
It is also one of the most versatile performance mast options in Duotone’s range. New tapered mast design
One of the most important changes is the tapering of both chord and thickness. Rather than carrying unnecessary mast section through the entire length, Duotone have refined the shape to find a better balance between structural stiffness and hydrodynamic drag.
The average profile is thinner and uses a shorter chord than before. In practical terms, there is less mast pushing through the water. That helps when accelerating onto foil, pumping through soft sections and maintaining speed during longer glides.
This matters particularly with modern higher-aspect front wings. As front-wing efficiency improves, drag elsewhere in the system becomes increasingly noticeable. A more efficient mast allows more of the performance available from the foil beneath it to reach the rider.

Integrating the plate and mast increases overall rigidity and creates a very direct structural path between the foil and board. It also allows Duotone to refine the transition around the plate to reduce drag when the board is releasing onto foil or reconnecting with the water during a touchdown.

For most wing foilers, we would start with the 84cm. It gives a useful balance between clearance, control, manoeuvrability and general versatility without moving into the more specialised character of either the 76cm or 92cm.
3BS+ compatibility and building your foil
The Mast SLS 2.0 uses Duotone’s latest 3BS+ mast interface. Duotone have designed it to work across the current foil platform while supporting the newer 4-screw system and future developments.
The important point when building a complete setup is that the mast is only one part of the system. Your front wing, fuselage or frontpiece and chosen tail still need to be correctly matched to one another.
For a freeride, freefly, parawing or downwind-focused build, the Duotone Glide 3.0 SLS is the efficiency-focused SLS option, with a high-aspect shape designed around pump and glide. Riders wanting the premium version can step up to the Glide 3.0 D/LAB.
For a looser, more manoeuvrable setup aimed at prone, wave, freefly, wake or Foil Assist riding, look at the Duotone Crest SLS. Dedicated freestyle riders can instead build around the Duotone Pop D/LAB.

The Mast SLS 2.0 is arguably the most relevant carbon mast in Duotone’s 2027 range for the rider who wants a genuine performance upgrade without automatically moving to D/LAB.
The key improvements are all in areas that experienced foilers can actually feel: less mast in the water, a more refined profile, greater structural rigidity and a cleaner relationship between board, mast and foil. It should make an efficient front wing feel more efficient rather than becoming the component that limits it.
